Zakk Wylde On The Sound Of The New BLS Album
Zakk Wylde has offers an insight into what to expect from the new BLS album. Frankly, we can’t wait. Get your High Voltage tickets here!
Black Label Society are gearing up to release their brand new album ‘Order of the Black’ on August 9th and we’re chomping at the bit to hear what the man’s got planned.
Recently he gave an interview to Gibson.com to talk about that album where he revealed: “”It’s just whatever the songs are. I hate bands who are like, ‘This is our heaviest yet’… so it’s just picking and screaming now? Or, ‘This is the fastest guitar playing I’ve ever done.’ Then you’re listening to notes. My favorite artists — Zeppelin, Sabbath, Elton John — the whole thing is songs. ‘Back In Black’ wasn’t the heaviest or most vulgar AC/DC album — it has the best songs.”
Zakk Wylde also referenced Metal Hammer giving him our prestigious Golden God award saying: “I was gone for four years before this album, and suddenly I’m a Golden God and metal’s Best Guitarist. Next time I’m gonna go away for 15 years and come back with a Pulitzer and a Nobel Peace Prize.”
Black label Society will headline the Metal Hammer stage at this year’s High Voltage festival.
The first ever High Voltage festival will be headlined by classic rock giants ZZ Top and the reformed Emerson, Lake and Palmer with a very, very special tribute to Ronnie James Dio from the members of Heaven & Hell and Glenn Hughes/Jorn Lande. The Metal Hammer stage features Down, Black Label Society, Saxon, Cathedral, Clutch, Opeth and many other metal heavyweights!
Tickets cost £75 per day or £135 for the full action-packed weekend and all regular ticket holders can now upgrade their tickets to VIP or VIP Packages. The VIP packages will include hotel and transport packages and bespoke merchandise. Get your High Voltage tickets here!

‘has offers an insight’? LOL
can’t wait for the new BLS either… I want it NOW!
The sound of the new BLS album? No doubt loads of squealing pinched harmonics as usual. *yawn*
After reading and listening to various interviews I’m preparing myself for another disapointing BLS album. Shot to Hell was dull and littered with half baked “melodic” songs.
I’m all for melody and I love Zakk, always will, but the dude needs to walk away from the piano more and stick to the massive riffs.
Come on Zakk, play to your strengths. Chugga chug chug squeal widdly widdly chug squeal chug.
BLS tour, please?
