Beez: It’s A Big Year For Download
Beez has a quick rant about why this year’s Download could be the most important yet.
God, I love the pre-festival announcement buzz. The thought that we might see Faith No More on a British stage for the first time in over a decade send shivers up the spine.
Seriously, I missed FNM the first time around (I was 14 when they split-up, ok!?) and the thought of Patton and the boys ripping into ‘The Gentle Art Of Making Enemies’ (mainly because I want to scream about being the best fuck that you’ve ever had at the top of my lungs) gets me all teary-eyed just thinking about it.
Will it happen? Who knows but it’s a hell of an exciting prospect. Could his royal Durstness make a return to a UK stage? Say what you will about the Limp (pimp) but they were a kick ass live band.
It’s all speculation and it’s all really bloody exciting. It’s for reasons like this that last year’s Offspring and Lostprophets headline stint left you feeling, well, a little limp. It was like turning up for a blind date expecting Jessica Alba and getting Fern Britton.
It’s this that makes it damn important for Download to get it right this time out…and I think they will. Let’s face it, the rumours we discussed with Andy Copping were enough to make the most scpetical amongst us hopeful. Def Leppard? Lamb Of God? Mano-fucking-war!?!?!? Yes, yes and in the last example, fuck yes!
At the moment, we just don’t know but Download has always been a great weekend and here’s hoping the bands announced on Monday will be enough to ensure that this year’s no different.
More importantly, let’s hope for Faith No More!

BRING IT OOOOOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! cant FUCKING wait now. there better be some quality bands. rammstein are overdue now but hey ill b e happy whoevas announced as long as lamb of god are in there somewhere
