Blog: Why It’s Your Duty To Vote For ‘Maiden At This Year’s Brits
It’s common knowledge that Iron Maiden are one of the best live spectacles in the history of music, we’d like to tell you why it’s your duty to vote for them at this year’s Brits.
Picture the scene: And the nominees for Best Live Act are…Coldplay , Elbow , Iron Maiden, Scouting For Girls and The Verve. And the winner is…Coldplay. Chris Martin stands up from his table with that horrible, smug face of his as the estate agents and usual bunch or Mr & Mrs Ford Mondeo types that think Coldplay’s music is deep, relevant or interesting, applaud yet another award for yet another soulless act.
Would you want that? Would you want Richard ‘monkey’ Ashcroft or that fat bloke from Elbow to be giving an acceptance speech instead of Steve Harris and Bruce Dickinson? Then it is your job, no, it’s your DUTY to vote for Iron Maiden at this year’s Brits right now. Think of the last time you saw Maiden…are Scouting For Girls capable of making people feel that way? Are they bollocks!
This is about flying the flag for heavy metal, fighting the good fight and making sure one of the greatest bands to ever surface from our fair isle are celebrated in the fashion they so rightly deserve.
It would be one in the eye for the Brits too. They’ve ignored metal since they started handing out awards, let’s give ourselves just one moment where we can say “fuck you! Iron Maiden are better than any of the processed, manufactured shit you spoon-feed the public as being important”. ‘Maiden are recognised all over the world as being one of the all-time greats, let’s get them some recognition in their own homeland.

I witnessed a life changing event when I saw Iron Maiden in 1982 during the Beast on the Road Tour in Seattle Wa. I have seen them numerous times on most of their tours “Powerslave” was the best! Not much into music awards, but finally after all these years they finally F**king win one and get the recoginition the DESERVE!. Who the F**K is Coldplay, Scouting For Girls, WTF?, The Verve, and Elbow. Do the mainstream music pukes think those groups can really play live let alone tour. Even on a bad night Maiden would blow them away. Ask Ozzy and that bitch Sharon who had to pull the plug on them. Iron Maiden will always be the best live show, have the best albums, MASCOT “EDDIE” and go against the mainstream. I grew up having people tell me that Maiden would never last.Well they are still here and most of the bands, FADS and MTV BS for over30 years has been shovled into a cespool. I am hoping to be able to see Flight 666 here in the States, I am not holding my breath, but you never know. As always, UP THE IRONS!
