The entries are still coming in! (Still no Seventh Son!)…

We’re inviting everyone to recreate a piece of Iron Maiden artwork and send it to us.

Below is another recreation of ‘Killers’ from Sandra S. Think you can do better? Send us yours to metalhammer@futurenet.co.uk

Last week we had this great one from Sarah and Gareth.

The week before we had this awesome one, ‘Dance Of Death’!

And here’s another great entry, this time, ‘The Trooper’.

I still think the dance of death one is the best, it looks like they went to so much more effort than any of the others.

Gigglet

Jay, may I ask on what grounds you base your definition of ‘effort’. Being a full time farmer on a rice padi in China may quality as may being tortured by a full album of Katy Perry’s creation whilst balancing a ball on your nose, I do however think that the lengths of ‘effort’ we went to when re-creating our cover qualifies to some degree.
No, we did not spend hours in photoshop creating some sort of visual masterpiece,
We did however spend hours in photoshop screaming at the computer and ending up
with something vaguely passable (if you zoom in we even put little stars on it…c’mon) :)
We may not have spent our evening posing with fluffy
animals and taking exciting photos from the comfort of our home..and yet we did venture
out into the freezing cold hell of our local village with a blood covered axe in front of
the local church..which was ‘effortless’ enough until some local thought our actions were
‘unsuited and threatening’ and asked the friendly policeman to have a polite conversation
about the weather and such with us.
Creating such an effortless looking image with
such effort should surely be worthy. I would not imagine that going up to a rebel chinese
rice padi worker and telling him his work has a lack of effort simply because the product of
his work is bland and uninteresting would be an idea with much ‘effort’

Alas, until we reach the god-like standards of ball-balancing katy perry fans we may never
qualify for Jay’s definition of ‘effort’.

By the weirdo in the Killer’s picture (the effortless one).

Gigglet… STFU

Pearce wore a bikini for our Dance of Death entry!
Surely that along countsas effort? Haha.
Major sacrifice.

lol!! ew katy perry,

Gigglet, what i said was not meant as an insult to any of the other entries.
I never said that you didnt put effort in. All i meant was that i know how much effort pearce and beth went to as i know them.
I apologise if you took any offence from my comment as it was not meant that way.
All that said, this is the internet please dont take it so seriously.

Gigglet

Lol Jay, what exactly about anything I wrote was serious at all? Chinese rice padi katy perry fans? I mean c’mon everyone knows they prefer metallica.
*insert long drawn out rant about metallica v katy perry*..some other time maybe.
Anyway, no need to apologise, I am merely here for comedic indifference and I myself apologise for the apparent hint of seriousness in my last post?!?

By Gigglet (Unfortunate sufferer of temporary seriousness).

Real Metaller

That’s pretty gay. Metal Hammer are fags when it comes to proper metal (Trivium doesn’t count)

jamesgill

a) In what way are Trivium not ‘proper metal’?
b) and in what way are Metal Hammer ‘fags’?

Gigglet

*ooh another chance for a pointless serious rant*
(a) Proper = ’suitable’ or ‘fitting’ their idols are Metallica…are you going so far as to say Metallica are not proper metal? /end
(b) I happen to believe that Metal Hammer is the best publication ever, I mean who needs the
Bible when you have Metal Hammer (ignores urge for blatant christian joke).
On the other hand, you are only the second best selling rock-magazine behind another of more
faggy standing. And the headline ‘Alexisonfire announce new album title’ in ‘Latest News’
is a little worrying.
And yet although I may not appreciate the faggy screaming of the members of Alexisonfire,
I’m sure someone else will, and that is the beauty of Metal Hammer. It has a little something
to appeal to every metal fan, whether it be the
genius stickers which make excellent decorations to well…everything, or the huge liftout posters
for the stalkers. The fact that there are so many great band names on the cover and did I mention
the pretty stickers :)
In conclusion, there is no reason not to buy Metal Hammer, for the music, for the articles
for the fact it’s sealed so you can’t read it the aisles of WH Smith.
I have heard their editor is a little bit faggy though :P

/salute the almighty editor :)

N.B. No bribes were offered in the making of this rant..or were they?

Real Metaller

Terrorizer is better than Metal Hammer

Real Metaller

Cause they don’t do shite gimmicks like this

Urr…A little uncalled for?
Lighten up, it’s all good fun.
:)

^ Yea, she’s right.

And for the reference, Katy Perry and her awesomeness would butt f**k Metallica any day.

lol i will admit terrorizer is a great magazine but metal hammer has more to offer with free stuff like badges/stickers/posters etc. depends what type of music you listen to i guess since metal hammer has better bands in then kerrang and terrorizer probabley has afew more bands in then metal hammer. xxx
