Monday is ‘Day Of Reckoning’!
Download VS Knebworth is on!
Monday will see Download and Knebworth announcing their bills, going head-to-head in the ultimate clash of the titans and we cannot wait!
In the red corner, Download festival!
Held at Donington, the home of Monsters Of Rock, we held an exclusive chat with the festival’s organizer Andy Copping in which he revealed that they were in talks with ZZ Top, Limp Bizkit & Faith No More. There’s also the chance of Manowar’s first UK show in over a decade, Def Leppard and Rammstein! After so many rumours last year, we wouldn’t be surprised if Slipknot end up being a surprise inclusion too.
Download is set to take place on June 12th – 14th.
Who we expect to be part of Download: Slipknot, Limp Bizkit, Heaven & Hell, Bring Me The Horizon, New Found Glory, Billy Talent, Korn, Prodigy…and hopefully Faith No More. Read our view on why this year’s Download is more important than ever!
In the blue corner, Knebworth!
Having played host to Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd and…er…Genesis, Knebworth certainly has it’s own rock credentials in order.
It’s been long rumoured that Metallica will headline the event but it’s also come to light that Linkin Park may headline a night too. Details are sketchy about this one at the moment but with Metallica allegedly on board, you know there will be some huge names attached!
Who we expect to be a part of the festival: Metallica, Linkin Park, Killswitch Engage, Lamb of God,
Marilyn Manson, Korn…and hopefully Faith No More.
Knebworth is set to take place on August 1st – 2nd.
Who do you think will get the better bill? Would you go to Knebworth over Download? Let us know in our comments section!

if the Knebworth festival does go ahead ill be there, only bout 20mins from my house……have got my download ticket already so just waiting for both line-ups on monday…..bring it on!
Blimey that is exciting… Metallica, want to catch them with Death Magnetic now seeped in my veins. Man – O – War I want to see their bare chests covered in old greasy oil
Knebworth…hopefully get a decent metal bill unlike Download of late with utter shite like Lostprohets and other pop bollocks!!!!!
downlaod and knedbworth both sound good just hope bring me the horizon die in a car crash before any festivals as they suck major ass
abit harsh wiv the bring me the horizon comment
also slipknot have just selfconfirmed for saturday at download
why pick one? go to both! there are some serious bands for both festivals it is too hard to call for anyone! and seeing as how the ticket prices are so fair it would be rude not to go!
hope manowar come to the uk, but every band at download better be good otherwise manowar will kill them
death to false metal
OMG…. I don’t know what I’ll have to do, but if I can’t make it to Download, I’ll practically have to be at Knebworth! That’s an insane bill.
Harsh but fair on the Bring Me The Horizon comment.
I shall be wherever Faith No More are and if they don’t get back together I’ll be a Bloodstock for a REAL metal festival. Although Manowar would rock.
I think Download really need some proper headliners after the shit they booked last year. Here’s hoping that FNM are on board.
I don’t know which is gonna annoy me more, limp bizkit, an awful band, or bmth, a bunch of jumped up idiots who think they can do metal
But on the plus side, Knebworth looks insane, i reckon that’ll kick more ass, download has been in decline for years
easy, bloodstock or hellfest.
those line ups for download and Knebworth fucking suck
Since Knebworth is the same weekend as Wacken, i will not be going there. Download has been crap for a few years so I would likely not go. Maybe just to see a couple of bands for one day like i did for Kiss / Priest
Where the hell are the mighty Machine Fuckin’ Head mentioned in these festivals? If anyone deserves to play or to even Headline (especially Download) then surely its Mr Rob Flynn and the guys??
It’ll probably be Knebworth for me. Metallica, Lamb of God, Korn, Killswitch, probably Machine Head, it does seem like a better option based on rumours. Plus Linkin Park will just be great for nostalgic value :p Although i’ll probably buy a Download day ticket for Slipknot since i’ve heard they’re planning on playing the whole first album with the old suits and masks, that’ll be a nice treat

Full force-Germany
Hell Fest- France
Rock AM Ring-Germany
WTF!!!!!!!
knebworth festival!?
its wrong to turn our backs on donnington which has been known for monsters of rock, ozzfest and download for years and its central to the u.k so its easier to get to for most people. the bands that go to knebworth are only in it for the money and dont give a toss about the fans! fuck knebworth!
