Now That’s What I Call… A Bad Idea

This week’s is a bumper fake compilation. Has your favourite band ever done something that was so bad you felt embarrassed for them…?

1) Blessed By A Broken Heart – Move Your Body
Hair-metal-core anyone?

2) William Control – Beautiful Loser
Aiden frontman Wil Francis’ synth pop solo project

3) Ville Valo & Natalia Avelon – Summer Wine
Bad pop collaboration from the metal crooner

4) Blacq Audio – If Only
AfI frontman’s (Davey Havoc) electro side project

5) Metallica & Ja Rule – We Did It Again

6) Chris Cornell – Part Of Me
Hiphop producer Timbaland lends a hand to make Cornell sound even more like a cashing-in sell-out who hates rock music. Ta.

7) Machine Head – Burning Red (the album)
(‘From This Day’ -  Good song. Awful video. Orange fucking tracksuit?)

8) Children Of Bodom – Oops I Did It Again (Britney Spears cover).
There’s irony. And there’s nonsense.

9) Cradle Of Filth – Temptation (Heaven 17 cover)
Poignant lyrical themes is no reason to cover Heaven 17.

10) Kiss – Lick It Up
Kiss without make-up? Where’s the point in that?

11) Graveworm – Losing My Religion (REM cover)
Again, I see what you tried to do here, but…

12) Tori Amos – Raining Blood (Slayer cover)
Pianos and Slayer? You’re hot, but you’re mad.

13) Ozzy Osbourne & Coalchamber – Shock The Monkey
Even if you don’t know this tune, you know it’s the worst idea since the drugs-nudity-scissors combo. Spookicore?

14) Blackmore’s Night (all of it)
“Dear Ritchie, you helped invent heavy metal with Deep Purple and gave us Rainbow with Dio. And now this…? Mando-fucking-lins? How could you?”

15) Alien Ant Farm – Smooth Criminal (Michael Jackson cover).
Like anyone will take you seriously now.

16) Kerry King & Sum 41 – What We’re All About
Is this really what you’re all about Kerry? Is it REALLY though?

17) Susperia – The Sun Always Shines On TV (Aha cover).
Scandinavia is cool, but covering their 80s pop acts isn’t necessarily

18) Sepultura – Bullet The Blue Sky (U2 cover)
A U2 cover? That’s definitely how to claw back some credibility.

19) Metallica – St. Anger
Welcome a therapist into your studio and watch your metal suffer.

20) Joaquin Phoenix’s hiphop ‘career’.

21) Metallica – Until It Sleeps (Moby remix)
Seriously, what were you thinking?

22) Judas Priest – Parental Guidance
We still love you, but only just…

23) Fieldy’s Dreams – Are You Talkin To Me
We’re literally speechless at how really brilliant this isn’t.

24) Tommy Lee’s Methods Of Mayhem
Drum for the greatest rock band of the 80s? Not me! I’m starting a rap metal project instead.

25) Jimmy Page & P Diddy – Come With Me
Like watching your war hero grandfather shit in his pants and forget your name.

26) Billy Corgan – The Future Embrace
Just make friends with the others and you can have your career back.

BONUS TRACK
27) James Hart (ex- Eighteen Visions) solo career (so bad, it never happened)

Check out our Now that’s What I Call… Wrong’ compilation.

Angry Anderson – “Suddenly”

Rose Tattoo frontman not only writes and sings the theme to Kylie and Jason’s wedding on Neighbours but had the sheer balls to put it out later under the Tatt’s name on the “Beats From A Single Drum” album. YouTube songs like “We Can’t Be Beaten”, “Black Eyed Bruiser” and “Scarred For Life” and then look up that other abomination…

Metallica (not quite my very favourite band but much respect for the amount of time they’ve put in) using Marianne Faithfull on ‘The Memory Remains’ on Re-load. Why!!!!! They should have used one of their mums.

You forgot Gene Simmons’ cover of ‘Firestarter’. Amazingly, the video is EVEN WORSE than the music.

Wrighty

How dare you have a go at ANYTHING off of Turbo, let alone Parental Guidance?!

I love Summer Wine! And it’s not bad collaboration!

Linkin Park and Jay Z -_-

Ville Valo took a big risk with summer wine, I don’t like the song, but he proved he can rock , pop, (and who knows, maybe folk and yoddle) any song with his amazing voice. Can’t say the same for some other rockers.
So thumbs up for people who aren’t afraid to risk making fools of themselves!

How about corey taylor on top of the pops doing that awful acoustic song.

How can anyone bad mouth COB’s cover of Oops I Did It Again?? It’s awesome XD

Ville went and did something quite different from what he’s done before.. And boy, he pulled it off!
Summer Wine with Ville and Natalia is the best version of it I’ve ever heard. He has an amazing voice and can do basically whatever he wants with it. I simply don’t see the least bad thing in that song.

BlakNo1

Turbo sucked ass, that’s why.

Sorry, Temptation is a crazy cover

Phantasmagasm

BBABH and Burn Halo (James Hart solo project) are both incredible and HAVE happened.

I second the Gene Simmons and Firestarter… song is bad but the video… DAMN!!!!

Slipknot – Snuff
- Seriously. This is one song I will never learn to love, and it ruins an otherwise awesome record. Corey should have saved it for his upcoming solo-project, which I, by the way, have no intension of listening to.

Lamb Of God – Randy Blythe’s hair.
- Man, that shit was never meant to grow LONG! He looked downright MEAN when he was bald, and just plain awesome when he was short-haired. But long? No…

dude snuff is the best track on all hope is gone! just cos it is acoustic doesn’t stop it being great. if anything it shows the skill of the player, mind you i would much rather listen to some 5fdp or sylosis than some seasick steve…

assimilate

children of bodom covering britney spears was awesome and hilarious!!!

How about Metallica releasing “Garage Inc.”? There was a bad idea on 2 CDs.

The Axel Rose Band – Chinese Democracy

Shaun C

Certain bands should just split up (Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Korn, The Rolling Stones ((and many others, too many to mention)) I’m looking in your direction) and stay split up. (Faith No More, I’m looking in your direction. Decided to jump on the reunion trend wagon? Limp Bizkit’s on that wagon too, you know…)
Sux my balls

metalbhoy

Shaun C..

What?

emBezzle

Trivium – The Crusade

Linkin Park and Jay-z

And the Bodom song is a club classic! More pop covers from melodic death bands!

i like william control – beautiful loser. i’ve got the album at home and i love it. it may be different from aiden but thats what the fans need after a dissappointing ‘convication’. the lyrics are so dark and messed up its great.

i dont know why cradle covered ‘temptation’ though its not they’re best. but Dani seems pretty happy it so…

why hit out at machine head – they rock. Rob Flynn is a god.

Mani_Filth
