Download wins this year. Sonisphere is pretty metal, yes, but Download has FAITH NO FUCKING MORE!!! Plus other bands with much more 'wow, as if they've got them to play' bands like ZZ Top. Plus the Sunday is just gonna be so much fucking fun. Don't stop... believing! She's got legs, she knows how to use them... BRING IT ON.

P.S. Deftones- what are you doing??!?!? Surely Download or Sonisphere made an offer?

now now...... the sonisphere lineup mite be BIGGEr becase they all signed exclusivity contracts. but its only 2 days and isnt worth the money BUT i am going to both, (hypocrytical) cos i cant miss metallica MH and LoG. im still saying download is better this year due to thew high diversity and MASSIVE once off bands that are playing. sonisphere is very mainstream BUT the lineup is epic. so yeh im going to both and stop playing the my horse is bigger than your horse game and go to both (Y)

can you metalheads get a bit of objectivity!? its a good lineup, its just lacking on the metal front. A bit of a dissapointment in that respect, but with the likes of Radiohead, Arctic Monkeys, Progidy, Kaiser Chiefs, Kings of Leon, Glasvegas, White Lies, Bloc party etc its an indie dream! and there are still loads of bands to be announced dont forget.

@Peter
Piss off Download's got it right. It's Sonisphere for metal this year. Metallica, Anthrax, Lamb Of God, Machine Head, Bullet, A7x, NIN, Mastodon... Download's metal bands are SlipKnot, 5FingerDeathPunch, Killswitch Engage, DevilDriver and Down.
Don't get me wrong, I like most of the bands at all both festivals, but seriously... only SlipKnot and Down even come close to Sonisphere's standard.

As stated previously, this festival is dead to any metal fan, self-respecting or even not. Even last year there was always the draw of Metallica. But its just not got that any more, and even if the Concrete Jungle/Lock-Up stage was any good, it wouldn't be worth the near £200 you'd have to shell out to have to walk around with the posers when it'd be cheaper to go see all those bands individually.

Download has got it right this year with the likes of Faith No More, Slipknot, ZZ Top and some great additions in Opeth, Meshuggah and Down to name a few. Now that Sonisphere has come along, and now that Bloodstock has raised its profile quickly and successfully, its effectively given Leeds/Reading to basically say goodbye to metal at this festival. A shame, perhaps, but at least it potentially guarantees better bands in future for the big three rock + metal fests in the UK.
